How can I test the Vail SIP TIM using a sample speech application?
You can use the default MSS application that plays the prompt 'Welcome to the Microsoft Speech Server'. At this point, there is no direct dependency between the Vail SIP TIM and the sample apps included with the Microsoft SASDK.
Below we've outlined some high level steps to help you get started with MSS application installation. Detailed documentation and help should be available at Microsoft speech website and in the SASDK documentation.
- Make sure that the speech controls included with the SASDK are installed on your web server. The default sample app will work without the speech controls but for apps that are built with the speech controls you need to install the SASDK.
- You can download the Fitch and Mather sample application.
- After installing the application on the web server (for an all-in-one install, it can be the same machine as the MSS), update the TAS start page to point to the application's initial page URL.
- For debugging problems, look in the Application event log on the MSS machine.
Any phone call you make will then go to this application. If the web server is not running on the same machine as MSS, make sure that the web server IP address is added to the trusted site list of TAS.
